Online Readiness Assessment
Computer Access
Q1:
I have regular access to a computer with high-speed, reliable connection.
When taking an online class, it’s obviously important to have ready access to a computer. Ideally, this would be at home, although some students have been successful using campus computer labs or local library computers (as long as they have reliable transportation during open hours). High speed connections (meaning DSL or cable) are important, as this allows ease of download of large files, video, or Flash documents. Regular access is needed because most instructors require students to log into class several times during the week. You should have a backup plan if your computer access fails.
